When the Israelites were in the wilderness, God gave them bread from heaven for their hunger and He provided water from a rock for their thirst.
No one else did it.
He did it.
I believe what God was showing them then is what He is showing us now – that He is the only One who can fill us and He is the only who can satisfy us.
If we are going to hunger and thirst after anything, let it be after righteousness. Let there be a hunger and thirst for His word. Let there be a hunger and thirst to know Him more. Let there be a hunger and thirst to do good and to live holy.
Make Him your Bread. Make Him your Living Water.
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled (Matthew 5:6).
And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that come to me shall never hunger and he that believe on me shall never thirst (John 6:35).
If any man thirst, let him come to me, and drink (John 7:37).
