hope: the confident expectation of what God has promised; belief grounded on substantial evidence; to trust in

I’m not proud of it, but I was once angry with God. Well, maybe more than once.

And I had enough of the church – the building and the people.

I was angry with God because He didn’t do what I wanted Him to do, but God is not responsible for what He didn’t say. My anger and disappointment was the result of false hope. My hope wasn’t built on the word of God, but it was built on a fantasy. It was built on what I thought and what I imagined life should be.

I’m not telling you not to hope or to be hopeful. There is nothing wrong with hoping for what you cannot see, but know that real hope can only be found in the word of God.

I hope in your word (Psalm 119:114).

The word of God shall stand forever (Isaiah 40:8).

Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My words shall not pass away (Matthew 24:35).

And our confident hope in God shall not disappoint us.
