The Devil Can’t Stop It

The Lord has been dealing with me about letting some things go. But if I cut it off, I’ll be alone again. No, that’s a lie. What you are doing is making room for what God promised you to come into your life. When you hold on to unforgiveness, grudges and anger, you invite things like heart problems, cancer, and other sicknesses, but the moment you let go of what He told you to let go, you make room for health, joy, restoration and His promises to come in.

I finally made a decision to cut something off this week and when I did, I was asked why. I want to leave an inheritance to my children’s children. I know what it’s like to suffer some things because of the decisions my parents, grandparents or ancestors made. They aren’t bad people and I’m not a bad person, but we have made some bad choices and I don’t want to pass down to my children what was passed down to me. I want to pass down blessings, not curses. As parents or guardians, we must be careful what we sow. Be not deceived. God is not mocked; for whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap. Remember your child/children came out of YOU so what you reap, they may also reap.

I can say all day that I love my children, but when I examined my life, I realized that some of the decisions I made showed that I loved myself more than I love my children.

There are things that the Lord has commanded me to do and sometimes I think, Lord, this is hard. Do I really have to do this? Can I do something else instead? The truth is it’s only hard because in my heart, I really don’t want to do it. There is no need to ask God to take something away from you if you really don’t want to let it go. I do believe God is able to do it. In fact, He can do it, but if God removes a thing and you don’t really want to let go of it yet, you will eventually go back in search of that thing. You see, it’s not always that something is holding us. Sometimes we are holding on to it. We are the ones that refuse to let it go.

God told me something this week and I want to encourage you with His words: The very thing YOU say is holding you captive or holding you back is not as strong as you think it is. The Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is the same Spirit that is in you. The Spirit of God is able to raise you up from whatever brings death. According to Acts 2:24, Jesus couldn’t be held by death. It was impossible, but it was possible for God to set Him free and it is possible for Him to set you free. God gave Jesus power and then Jesus gave you that same power (Luke 10:19). Death had no power to hold him and the thing you’re dealing with has no power to hold you.

It may have you, but what has you doesn’t have the power to keep you. You will be able to think clearly. You will no longer be confused or double-minded. You will not walk in fear. You will prosper and succeed in every area of your life. The devil can’t stop you from getting saved. He can’t stop you from getting delivered. He can’t stop the word God gave you from accomplishing what it was sent out to do. God gave you a promise and He is going to fulfill His promise.

The devil can’t stop it.

Even as a Christian, I’ve told the Lord a lot of things with my mouth, but I forgot that He could see what was in my heart. I was raised to go to church, but no one taught me how to be the church. I’ve been in church all my life so I learned exactly what to say or pray. What I said to God may have sounded good, but was it true? Did I really mean what I said? Unfortunately, many of us know how to honor the Lord with our lips, but we haven’t learned how to honor Him with our hearts. You and I know what it’s like to be lied to and if you hate it, God hates it, too. So don’t lie to God. Be real and be honest because He already knows everything.

Create in us a clean heart, O God and renew a right spirit within us (Psalm 51:10).

Lord, give us a new heart and put a new spirit in us. Take away the stony heart out of our flesh and give us a heart of flesh (Ezekiel 36:26).

My prayer is: Lord, take out the stubborn heart, the heart that doesn’t want to obey You and replace it with a heart that will be faithful, committed and obedient to You. Take out the heart that wants to do our will and give us a heart that will do the will of Him who sent us. Make us pure again, in Jesus name.

When God completes that prayer in your life, you won’t have to ask or beg Him to take this or take that away. You will choose to take the way of escape that He has provided for every temptation and you will choose life daily so that you and your seed will live…and you know what?

The devil can’t stop that either.
