Mary carried the Word (Jesus).
You are carrying a word. You are pregnant with a promise God gave you, but as you get closer to the end of the year, you find yourself becoming weary and frustrated. You are anxious like a woman who is about to give birth. You are ready to see what you’ve been carrying. The longer you wait, the more it seems like nothing is going to happen, but look at how good God has been to you. Trials, sickness and temptation came this year, but God kept you through all of them. He didn’t allow you to miscarry. He knew you were like Zacharias, who when the angel told him what God was going to do, he didn’t believe so before he could speak against what God said, he was struck dumb and unable to speak (Luke 1:20). God made sure that you didn’t abort or kill what you’re carrying with words of doubt and unbelief.
A pregnant woman has to prepare for the baby’s arrival. She has to get the room ready, buy a crib or bassinet, pick out baby names, etc. Don’t ask God for a spouse, wealth, cars and homes unless you are ready to prepare for what you are asking Him for. What people don’t understand is that if God says your current condition is about to change, then that means you can’t stay the same. You have to change, too.
Come in agreement with what God told you. Believe what He told you. Tell the Lord what Mary told the angel when he announced what God was going to do: “Be it unto me according to your word” (Luke 1:38). In other words, ‘God, let it happen just like you said. Do what You promised’.
Let me make this very clear. What God did in and through Mary wasn’t just for Mary. It was for the world. The world needed what was in Mary and the world has need of what’s in you. God is not about to give you things so you can tear down your barns to build bigger barns and store for yourself. God is giving to you so that you may give to others because there is a need.
When the angel described Mary’s unborn child, he said “He shall be great” (Luke 1:32). The reason why the attack has been great is because what you are carrying is great. There have been tears and disappointments during this pregnancy and I know you’re tired of the pain, but your pain is only a sign of what’s to come. You see, the pain (contractions) is what tells the woman it’s time to push. The pain is what tells her it’s time to give birth. What you’re going through only proves that it is your time and you shall bring forth.
You started 2014 strong and you’ve got to finish this year strong. It is not too late for you. It’s time to push. Push past how you feel. Push past the hurts and disappointments you faced this year. Push past the doubts and fears. Push past those who hurt you this year.
God is not going to move according to your due date, but He’s going to move according to His due season so don’t get tired of doing what’s right. You will reap – if you don’t give up (Galatians 6:9).
Get ready. It’s due season!
